The recommendation: Amatriciana, a delicious combination of tomato, bacon, onion and chilli.
It was the most amazing pasta dish I’ve ever eaten in my life. Paired with the Nero red wine, which complimented the dish perfectly. La Fettucina make their pasta fresh daily.

The Davidson plum mousse, macadamia pacoca, lemon myrtle and coconut ice-cream, was my favourite dish on the menu.

We ordered food from Yum Sing out of convenience, because it was close to our accomodation and we were pleasantly surprised. Try the yum cha at Yum Sing Restaurant Cairns, which is on Lake Street and conveniently close to most central Cairns hotels. Yum sing means Cheers in Cantonese.

We stumbled upon this one by chance. A mild Trinidad curry is encased inside a beautifully soft homemade flatbread known as a roti.
Roti are a typical take-out food in the West Indian region and are offered by roadside vendors. This authenticity comes to Cairns thanks to The Roti Shack. Customers consider the rotis to be a distinctive homemade substitute for other cuisines available in Cairns.
They are delicious and cooked fresh each order. If you’re in the Cairns CBD, these make for a delicious lunch.

This is a cute little Korean sweets cafe in the middle of town.
This was my first time trying Bing Su and it was refreshing, with a very subtle sweetness.
I loved “The Little Prince” theme decorating the cafe, if you haven’t read the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, I highly recommend it. It is by far my most favourite book.
